My Story of BTC

This is my story of how I derped around during the last BTC bubble, made some dough, and saw my friend pile up a mountain of debt on himself, only to become a millionaire. I hope if you read it there is a moral somewhere, but I'm not so sure there is. (prices are approximate to dates, going back in my memory a bit)
OCT 2011: (BTC $4) (preface)
As an undergrad computer science major I mined a few coins in a cyber security class . It took about 2 months and I think it was around .89 BTC or something like that (Edit: OK so I probably didn't mine this much, but I had access to the computers in the graphics lab and during this time, and they were mining 24/7. We let them run for a while after the class before taking our share out). I think it was worth about $8 at the time. I thought this was really cool, but also remember at that time you couldn't do anything with it, especially where I lived. I just kind of forgot about it, got a new laptop sometime later, and eventually chucked that one with the coins on the hard drive... (it was just $8 and I had no way of spending it remember) oh well so much for those. Who knows how many coins were lost by these standards back in those days. I take in all the maths, graduate with marks, drink all the beer, laugh with friends, fun times.
May 2015: (BTC $234)
Fast forward.. I end up in Los Angeles, CA through another long set of tales. I live with aspiring actors and film makers grinding it out as waiters and bartenders. They are good mates and take me to parties on occasion where we meet all kinds of characters. I end up chatting with a guy (lets call him Bill) who's nuts about BTC. I explain to him that I know all about it, and he is ecstatic to find someone who understands what he is talking about. I haven't been paying much attention the past years, and he shows me how far its come in tech and price. I smack my forehead, knowing I tossed away 8/10ths of a coin (could have been beer money man). We become friends and talk about Bitcoin pretty regularly.
I don't buy initially, but Bill is giving it all he's got, buying left and right with anything extra dollar he can scrape up. He believes in it. I get so worried that Bill is going to loose what he put in that I just buy a bit (.1BTC) so I will be invested enough to watch it, to know if Bill is up or down. You can guess what happens at this point. Up we go. Bill makes money, I make money.
June 2016: (BTC $661)
All is well. I am happy that Bill didn't lose his money and hoping he will take and re-invest his earnings in a more diversified portfolio. I'm worried about the ~$100 I made in earnings, like do I file this? (lol younger me)
I meet with Bill for the first time in a while. I'm excited to share our gains. We both show our gains and cheers. He immediately tells me that he is looking at ways of taking out credit to buy more BTC.... WTF? I say. He quickly proceeds to tell me the banks turned him down, but he found out he can just buy BTC with credit cards... so he is filing 7 applications right now to see how many he can open to buy BTC... I think for a second. I do the rational thing. I try to talk him down, but no way. He's doing it. I don't know much about investment at this point, just math and percentages, but thats enough to make me beg him to not do it.... he doesn't listen.
By my estimates Bill purchased a total of $30K worth of BTC with combined cash and credit on hand at (my best guess) an average price of $589 per BTC. I invest what I have to spare from savings to just keep up with the train wreck I am worried about happening to Bill. I think I have .2 BTC at this point just to keep up with his insane position
August 2016: (BTC $576)
The first dip comes, and Bill is facing credit card bills with interest rates that will kick in soon (he will not be able to make the minimum payments). We discuss is troubles at this point frequently. I suggest he should liquidate and close the cards. He disagrees, and liquidates only a position large enough to pay the minimums and give him a bit of cash. Not only that but he use the cash to secure short term loans at higher interest in order to re-invest to make up the losses. I once again beg him to re-consider, but no... this is his path. I once again invest more to keep up with it, so I can keep up with Bill and his well being. I purchase a good bit more and have .5 BTC
November 2016: (BTC$758)
I move to another city and mostly forget about my interactions with Bill. He messages me a few times about the price going back up and being bullish about it once again. I do the same song and dance of trying to warn him to close his cards and positions to get out while he can. Nope he's holding strong. Nothing to be done. I assume I can't do anything to help this situation. Once the price busts above $900/BTC even I can't say anything. I've made money, he's made bank. I feel happy for him, but once again concerned. I know he is running on margin and don't want him to get sucked in, but I also don't want to weigh in on such a big investment at this point. He texts me about the gains, I mostly just give the thumbs up back, knowing I can't back down at this point, but I don't want to be around him if it fails.
Jun 2017: (BTC $3000)
I have mostly lost touch with Bill because I live in another city. I never sold my BTC though, and I never forgot about him. Around Feb. 2017 I visited LA and saw Bill. I thanked him for making me the money that I held now in BTC. I asked him what he was doing with his stake. As always he was ready for the apocalypse to happen and for his BTC to be the only currency left somehow. He was holding stone cold. I wasn't persuading at this point, hell, I was holding myself.
Dec 2017: (BTC $16000)
While I thought I would never be swept up in the chaos that is BTC... I was. The amount of BTC I hadn't sold (.3BTC) was making even me feel like a genius. I had made so much money off just forgetting about something over months at a time. I often thought about Bill, but I didn't envy, in fact I really hoped he had paid off his credit card debts and was sitting on his fat profit. I watched BTC Youtube channels and debated if we would go to $100K or if this was it. I couldn't take the pressure and sold half my position @ around $16K/BTC
2018-2019 (BTC $20K -> $3.5K) (Epiloge)
In early 2018 price went up to $20k before quickly falling back to 10K. Thankfully I sold the rest of my position on the way down at about the same point as on the way up ($16k). I bought a few back in 2019 but have never really put as much capital back in as I made. As for Bill, well I told you at the beginning. Bill is a millionaire. My best estimates based on my text with him is he cashed out @ around an average of $17k/BTC. Even after taxes, he ended up real nice. I don't know if he was in the run up in 2019 but I must assume he was.
Looking at the market today, I'm not sure this story will repeat itself... maybe it will.

The Great Web of Slime

There is a web of invisible slime that reaches out from the artificial traditions of psychological think tanks, like The Tavistock Institute of Human Relations, whose roots trace back to the Vienna Psychology Club; a web that stretches across the entire world and inserts itself into your lives in intrusive, unethical and corrupt ways. Groups are deceiving you for a dollar, for a vote, for your personal information, for your labor; for your body and soul. This deception is carried out using every screen you look at, every song offered to you, every sign on a billboard, every popular book, magazine and newspaper.
If you want honest information; if you want to see past the slime, you are going to have to look hard for it. If you are just starting down your journey of being cognizant of the deception, the scope is difficult to believe but well borne out by the evidence. We all know the news is dishonest, but the common myth is that it is for the ratings and for the views. The ways in which the news is dishonest is what is really difficult for people to swallow and the “why” still very much in debate until you understand the framework by which they operate.
Systemic corruption is no exception to the march of modernization; more sophisticated than ever and more capable of staying hidden to the average person. Modern day slavers control the narrative and the reason it is a spiritual conflict between good and evil is because there are a very small group of people who believe that stealing your agency/free will/consciousness lends itself to their ability to become gods, in their own right.
Understanding that the elite have deep occult traditions is important, though often scoffed at. However, to advertise their power and influence, occult messages are constantly and publicly advertised back and forth between these groups. It is no theory that think tanks have studied and implemented cult behavior even going so far as to create artificial cults in which to entrap people.
Faceless, emotionless, unempathetic organizations that are merely constructed of words on paper are able to impose these cult tactics on you with impunity and in secrecy. This is the heart of the problem; when it comes to an organization, company, agency, church, etc., these abstract constructs are very much not human, at all. Their existence is alien and unknown to human instincts, who assign human attributes naturally and without conscious thought. These constructs take advantage of normal, honest, empathetic individuals by mimicking empathy, not by actually being empathetic.
There are more slaves, now, than ever in human history and the methods of enslaving are far more insidious than ever. Modern slavery networks and the corrupt political ecosystems that allow them to endure are the heart of mankind’s problems. If we, as a society, were able to address the corruption that keeps these networks alive, then we, as society, would solve a lot of problems surrounding organized crime, in general, not just the problem human trafficking.
How do we do that? It is very simple; “Zero Trust” policies in organizations and 100% government transparency. That’s it. A great deal of time, effort and money are spent making sure these issues never hit the ballot box and are never part of the platform of a candidate you are given the option to vote for. The movies you watch are constantly reminding you of dangers that allow a select group of idiots to maintain secrecy that is undeserved and clearly wielded for uses other than helping society.
Common sense solutions are not prioritized by the media and politicians. Don’t be a part of the destruction of common sense and common courtesy. Stop taking the bait. Stop taking the path of least resistance. We are all guilty, but pushing yourself to be better and do better has a ripple effect in the world around you. Being a terrible person also has a ripple effect. There are enough bad ripples.
The concept of an “epiphany” is an important one; where a person’s mind changes on a physical, neurochemical level to the extent that their world view changes. The moment a person is “red pilled” is an epiphany and it is very much the concern of media and Internet shills and their manipulative overlords because they do not want people to have the realization that the system is corrupt from top to bottom and that both sides of most narratives. But, if you do have that realization, there is a plan for you; to do nothing and sit idly by as corrupt forces continue their work. When you have an epiphany, the neurochemical storm actually is a moment where you are most suggestible and most ready to be manipulated.
If you manage to raise your level of awareness across multiple narratives, the system almost doesn’t need to care about you, anymore, as they have likely already moved you to inaction and made you unwilling to tell others the truth.
While there is a great deal of science that goes behind manipulating people, the tradition is as old as human history, itself; it’s origins, magical from the perspective of the ancients. Whether you call mass manipulation “hypnosis,” “psychology,” “magic” or “science,” the fact of the matter is that it is there in a more constant form than ever, impossible to avoid, and invisible to those who aren’t paying attention or willing to research and think for themselves.
Like the idea of dark matter, you cannot see it directly (at least, when done well), but should be able to test and compare data data in different circumstances to detect it. There are many confirmed real world examples of mass manipulation that people should be aware of, because it is very easy for people to believe that it is not happening to them.
Many say that is too big of a conspiracy to keep secret; though we already see how it works with a variety of leaks, court cases and plenty of proven real world examples. If you encounter this argument, you have probably encountered someone who is hypnotized into misunderstanding the word “conspiracy”, where a group of people work together to commit crimes.
One easy way to create a consensus across media organizations is to enter into “non disparagement agreements.” For example, HBO entered into a non-disparagement agreement with Michael Jackson’s attorneys. A recent court case established that the agreement remains in effect even after his death. This means, with the right law firm, someone can enter into many unknown non disparagement agreements with many companies.
It sounds weird, but this is like black magic. Occult literally means hidden. Secret words have been spelled out that the public is not aware of, but creates the illusion that there is a consensus about any given personality; like say a politician, a singer or an actor. A web of mutual non-disparagement agreements works as a form of forensic interruption, preventing people being held accountable for crimes.
Between non-disclosure agreements and non-disparagement agreements, there is a web of protected relationships where people, products and even governments are not allowed to be discussed in a negative light.
This has created an extortion racket by the media. If you don’t buy in, then you are fair game. Not only are you fair game, they will harass you until you buy in because they literally need something to do due to their lack of ability to speak negatively about their cohorts.
When you consider the nexus between government and media, the problem is compounded when you introduce the concept of keeping things secret for national security. Policy has created the circumstance that corporate and secret government interests are intertwined and they become aligned in keeping each other out of jail.
While a lot of this is managed at upper echelons, the system is merely taking advantage of human nature, which is why the government and media should be operating from a “zero trust” standpoint and not the other way around, like it currently is. There is and never has been any reason to trust the media or the government, and doubly so when their interests are aligned. There are many proven real world examples.
The first ingredient to modern mass hypnosis is saturation and repetition. Your first clue that the message is artificial is when many corporate, government and astroturfing battlegrounds all agree on the same thing.
Not only is a contrived message oft-repeated, it is generally very polarized; where, due to cognitive bias, it is designed for consumption by both sides with the ideal result of making one side feel schadenfreude and the other side feel outrage and injustice. Just being aware of this polarization tactic and allowing yourself to have more nuanced opinions that the black or white ones offered up to you, is incredibly effective at not taking the bait.
“Systems Psychodynamics” is the name of the psychological framework that is used to monitor and control people, primarily based on attacking and reforming “basic assumptions.” By controlling everyone’s basic assumptions using the repetitious push and pulling narratives, the levers of political and monetary behavior are controlled through “influencers.” This framework reads like it was written for social media, though, in reality, it is much older; social media merely enhances the effects.
One easy way to detect the agenda and the widespreadness of the corruption, without even knowing the finer points of mass persuasion techniques, is to see what is censored. Generally, the astroturfing campaigns seek to drown out good information that is contrary to their cause. However, when you find some information that is very damaging to their narrative, especially before they’ve scripted a response, it gets removed. Eventually, they will write up a standard response, but this takes time.
For this reason, I incubate a number of censorship experiments across multiple sites. While people easily get away with discussions about aliens and flat earth, conversations about modern slavery are shut down everywhere; particularly if you call people to action in reporting crimes. Sites that purport to be “free speech” will not allow you to openly hunt human traffickers and the “system” seems to hate vigilantes more than anything.
Most recently, the censorship around Covid “truth” is heaviest. Censorship of doctors has been swift and totalitarian. However, because I see generally what gets censored, first, I knew this was all a scam from Day One. The first SARS COV 2 tests, up until March, were merely SARS COV tests. Very literally. The SARS COV 2 tests hadn’t been invented, yet. Explaining that the body produces the CR3022 protein (what the antibody tests look for) for all human affecting coronaviruses was heavily censored. Even now, explaining this basic fact that exposes why a great deal of testing is fraudulent, is struck from both Right and Left astroturfing machines. If you really want a rabbit hole to dig through, search the coronavirus pandemic bonds that matured March 23, 2020.
Prior to that, the name “Eric Ciaramella” was one of the most censored things on the Internet. Censored, in that the information was deleted immediately. The motivations behind these multi-site censorship campaigns should have everyone concerned because it is consistently in support of Democrat and RINO narratives, politically, and always in favor of human traffickers.
However, even the Q Anon group will censor you with a variety of tactics if you speak of certain things in the wrong way or mention the possibility that they, themselves, are part of an astroturfing outfit. Fox News still won’t give a fair shake to the Uranium One/Skolkovo/Troika Laundromat evidence and it betrays them as controlled opposition/ a limited hangout, since it would destroy the Democrats.
Any “side” of politics you can be on, whether it’s fringe or mainstream or Right or Left, every group has limits to what truthful statements they will tolerate and the nexus where all the groups meet in alignment is when it comes to discussing modern day slavery and who is profiting from it.
Simply removing content is very overt and complaining about it to those who do it will usually earn you a mute or a ban. Running a “brand” across multiple platforms requires conformity to social media company ideologies, or you will be subjected to any and all means of censorship.
Covert means of censorship are also rampant. Upvotes.Club offers a service that not only promotes the content you want, but downvotes topics that run contrary to your marketing strategy. This is one of many astroturfing services. Shadow banning is another tactic that can be difficult to detect. “Deboosting” is common in social platforms, as well, where the number or type of viewers who see your content is limited. This breeds “echo chambers” across multiple Internet communities.
Out of frustration and curiosity, I began experimenting with different ways to engage with the shill communities. Very often, their own tactics work quite well against them. Years into this push and pull with these groups, my best strategy has evolved to monitor them as they often telegraph economic opportunity and subvert them from behind a layer of complexity a shill script can’t understand and is unable to deal with. When I noticed Bitcoin was being heavily shilled, I saw a signal to buy early. This was the catalyst for rethinking everything I was doing.
When I noticed that there was blatant fraud in the media about SARS COV 2, I noticed the exact same behavior I had seen before when I struck it rich with Bitcoin. I even went to my audience and said on a podcast, “the market will be back to normal levels in a month… six tops.” I bought the dip, knowing the numbers were fully overblown. My $TSLA experience has been quite enriching.
Every day, in the stock trading communities, shills are looking to pump and dump stocks and groups are spending money to illegally manipulate the stock market. However, you can use different ways to monitor social media to detect potential pumps and dumps. If you start seeing the same thing show up on different platforms, among different known shill groups, you know someone has paid for a pump and dump. So long as you have a set, small percentage to gain, you can avoid the pitfalls and get out early.
Right now, that is my “edge”, in trading. I don’t feel nearly as obligated to spread the truth to others, since I’ve realigned my priorities. These technological tools for being the first to news items, to new evidence, finding new ways of searching existing information; not only does it help you navigate past censorship, you can use it to make more “realistic” decisions about the world around you.
Politics and the stock market are inextricably linked. To be informed on one, is to be informed on the other. When you begin to pull in more intersecting information, like “systems psychodynamics” and overall agendas of differing groups, you are expanding your knowledge and your consciousness so that your intellect has more of a real world impact.
When you delve deep into ancient traditions, you will, eventually, learn of alchemy; usually the pursuit of endless wealth or the search for immortality. Day trading well is, essentially, modern day alchemy in that you are making money from thin air. Musicians transform what is in their mind into a product that can be sold. There are many forms of alchemy. Bitcoin is another great example of modern day alchemy. In my humble opinion, augmenting your own well-disciplined intellect with good computing practices can make you a modern day wizard; an alchemist.
Many people were saturated with pro-Nihilism marketing and ate it up with their Cheerio's while listening to Nirvana CDs. A couple of generations of nihilists later, combined with portable dopamine trap screens from waking moment 'til slumber, and people are literally having a hard time finding a reason to get out of bed in the morning.
Being a successful trader heals a lot of the damage from that consumerist propaganda and forces people to interact with the natural causes of their decision making.
The Market is not racist. The only color you have to worry about is green. The market does not celebrate your success or mock your failures. The opinions of critics do not count.
The Market does not care about your feelings or anyone else's.
All people enter the Market equal and there are no participation awards. There is no busywork. Your test scores do not matter. All that matters are results and that type of black and white simplicity makes the Market the most sane aspect of society, right now.
Though most of the obvious stocks have since reached preCovid normality, it has been easy to make money by sorting every ticker by Feb 20 high, then subtract the current price, calculate potential gain when they return to their old price and pick ones that had a high probability of doubling or tripling your money the fastest.
I understand it seems tangential, the stock market angle, but when you are routinely called a “conspiracy theorist”, it helps to be as realistic as possible and there is no better way to prove your theories than by putting your money where your mouth is.
The stock market is a vessel from which normal people (”retail investors”) are scammed constantly, for the benefit of institutional investors. The Epsteins, the Soros’, all the political elite; they are playing in this realm and they graduated to using AI and machine learning to augment their schemes years ago. In order to understand the elite, you have to understand their playground.
In order to compete in the information age, you need to augment your intellect using technology. If nothing else, use it to be meticulously organized. If you get organized in only one aspect of your life, make it your finances.
The Democratic party uses the ADA AI, named from Ada Lovelace and a competitor, in 2016, Cambridge Analytica, was used by the Republicans. These AI’s are augmented with databases and metadatabases of everything that can be served up by a social media APIs. They know everything about you and they don’t spy on your microphones, cameras and screenshots to catch you at crimes; they are spying on you in order to better teach you how to vote and spend money.
Combined with an army of astroturfing accounts, these AIs are quite good at manipulating what shows up on your screen. This type of censorship is bad for stock traders, researchers and people who just want a few honest answers.
In order to compete a bit better, I have taken to making by own custom feeds and scrapers, so that I can database text of many sites and subjects, which then is far easier to search, but is also able to sort information so that I can find what I am looking for in a few minutes, as opposed to trawling the same channels or search engines everyday and learning relatively little. I am really on the hunt for stuff that is voted up or noticed organically and is in that stage before it catches on by a shill group. I incorporate a lot of OSINT tools and I like to collect leaked databases to be able to compare information. It is very helpful to use machine learning to detect what I need as quickly as possible and serve it up to me, first.
Applying my own knowledge of how the astroturfing system works, I have developed strategies to target influencers with new and original information and I can quickly and easily get it to them without influencers even knowing I am the source of the information. I just have to identify the correct group to get my message out, then make sure their leaders see the information, who will naturally post it on their own and their followers will naturally vote information up for free. I don’t do this with stocks (questionable legality), but I do feed good news to the right people and I exert a lot less effort to get ideas across all platforms than I used to.
No astroturfing groups are into anti-consumerist ideas. “Hydro Homies” and “No Fap” are two great examples that recommend people be anti-consumerist and avoid specific products. As a result, these movements, despite being healthy and productive, have a lot of trouble gaining traction. There is no mainstream push for a truly healthy agenda. All contrived movements must pay to astroturf and shill because, otherwise, embracing their products and ideas is contrary to your well being. No shill group is working to save you money or trying to convince you to make the right decision, for yourself.
There are certain messages almost no one will add social media velocity to; detailed instructions on how to report crimes or catch pedophiles, leaked information that hurts both sides of the political spectrum, anything a little too technical or complex.
There are already efforts to make hijack the anti-human trafficking crowd. They will be tricked into meaningless pursuits that have no real world consequence. Money will be raised and wasted. News article after news article will be pumped out detailing how everyone is supporting victims and raising awareness. Meanwhile; nobody of consequence is arrested. The mining industry will continue to use forced labor and the networks they use will also feed the sex slavery and domestic servitude and the systemic policies and corrupt politicians will continue on unimpeded.
Let’s hope that changes, but it will require a lot more people getting off their asses and getting involved. It will require a lot more people speaking up outside of their echo chambers.
Ready. Set. Go.

Jews have real life time machine(s) and they want me to think that particle accelerators are actually time machines.

Previous post was deleted by a mod because of rule 4. To give me the impression that not everyone on the internet know who I am perhaps? Well it's not gonna work. The mods here even want me to know that they know who I am which is why the new mod account OB1_kenobi. Anyway re-posting with possibly threatening language removed and some other changes/additions. 🤷🏻‍♂️
All jews know who I am in real life and are "watching" me Truman Show style not just in the present but also in the future. How cool is that? They want me to think that particle accelerators are actually time machines. There is even a documentary called "The World's First Time Machine" suggesting that all they can do with their time machines is receive messages from the future (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0867212/). As shown in a South Park episode also. They had phones that could be used to call people in the past but they were meant for prank calls only. 🤣
By now I already think that the internet is just AOL. A = me (aMErica?); Me = Satan; "Satan Online" (I am Satan apparently 🤣). So everyone on the internet already know about the existence of time machine(s) and other advanced tech. Also noticed that country names may be fake so everyone in the world may indeed know who I am in real life. But posting this just in case jews also have mass "neuralization" tech as shown at the end of the movie Men In Black 2. Or like that Steve Carell movie (Date Night) where his character gave money to scammers saying that he knew they were scammers but was giving them money anyway, just in case they were not.
The jews may have seen that the "end is nigh" with their time machine(s) and instead of "repenting" they came up with the "Q psyop" to try and save their jew world. 🤣 And it seems like a generational psyop at this point because they even used their time machine(s) in the Charlie Chaplin movie "Modern Times" (see, it even has "time" in it 🤣).
The jews have been "showing off" their time machine(s) to me using their jew media. It seems to me now that ALL media is jew media. TV shows, movies, music, video games, news, books, etc. And it's not just hollywood but also bollywood, tollywood, rollywood and whatever other "woods" there are. They all know who I am in real life apparently. Combined with their remote mind surveillance/control tech (or whatever it is they call it) they can make it seem like the actors in TV shows or movies know what I am thinking/doing while watching a particular scene (sometimes even if I am within earshot). And now that I know, I can even make fun of the actors just by thinking. I also tried looking up some of their death days (in case of old actors in old movies) and letting them know when they are gonna die but they have put up fake death days and causes of death on sites like imdb and wikipedia, and in some cases not mentioning death days at all. For example, when I was a kid I heard that Charlie Chaplin was apparently choked to death by his fellow actors and everyone thought they were acting, whereas in Charlie Chaplin's wikipedia entry it says that he died in his sleep. 🤷🏻‍♂️ I also managed to show some of them what they would look like in the future (jewesses mostly 😁) because of which they even made it difficult to find newer photos of them in imdb or not posting photos at all. 🤣
Oh yes, the jews can look up their actual death days using their time machine(s) but don't because it may be a "Brave Jew World" but it's not that brave. 🤣 Was also reminded of the website deathclock.com and noticed they used their time machine(s) to leave messages for me (the emails sent to the "owner" of the website and his replies were actually meant for me). And whatever happened to stickdeath.com? 🤣 I am guessing the emails posted on that site and the owner's replies were also meant for me. Since they have time machine(s), they know which websites I will be visiting and when, and can leave messages meant for me beforehand on comment sections, forums, etc.
They are also showing off their time machine(s) using video games like GTA V. For example I replayed the "Repossession" mission (https://gta.fandom.com/wiki/Repossession) just after buying a motorcycle last year. The motorcycle just so happens to be a TVS Apache (https://tvsmotor.com) and one of the characters mentions having "Apache" blood. Not sure if the jews wanted me to buy the motorcycle or not but I believe they most likely wanted me to buy the TVS NtorQ (it had bluetooth and everything 🤣). Now that I have already purchased the Apache, they have added bluetooth and electronic fuel injection to the 2020 model and I am stuck with no bluetooth and a carburetor instead. 😒 They also have a scooter called Jupiter (not Saturn 🤣).
Also realized that I am supposed to be the crazy frog (the most annoying thing in the world; Satan is also supposed to be pepe the frog 🤷🏻‍♂️) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k85mRPqvMbE (as foretold by jews 🤣)
When playing Assassin's Creed I noticed the message when the game is launched claiming that the game was "made by a mulitcultural team of various religious faiths and beliefs" and found it odd at the time. Now I realize it's because the game was actually made by a "multicultural" team of jews. Didn't pay much attention to the story but I am sure they used their time machine(s) on that game also. And when playing Forza Horizon 4 recently, they "gifted" me with a "Santa" outfit trying to hint that they know who I am and that Satan is also supposed to be Santa. That's why there was that movie "Bad Santa" I am guessing. 🤣
The first time I thought someone out there definitely has time machines is when I was watching the "Timeless" episode of "Star Trek: Voyager" (https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Timeless_(episode) ). I was having salami sandwiches during the following scene and it was technically "lunch".
"Shield Generators?" "Online." "Plasma flow?" "Stable." "Comm. link?" "Secure." "Lunch?" "(pause) Salami sandwiches."
  • Harry Kim and Chakotay, just before entering the slipstream in the Delta Flyer
This happened either in 2016 or 2017 whereas the episode was apparently made in 1998. Didn't even notice the name of the episode at the time and only noticed when I looked it up again and posted about it on the 8chan "qresearch" board. I also thought of the possiblity that I am living in a simulation or something and that the episode was being "generated" or "rendered" live but that was not the case since I later noticed that such things happened even in TV shows that I had already watched before and remembered watching. For example, cartoons like Swat Kats (9/11 is just fake news meant for Satan; same goes for 26/11 I am guessing but Satan didn't pay much attention to it but did theorize that the US was responsible for that also 🤣) and Dexter's Laboratory.
Anyway, only after watching the entire first season of "Quantum Leap" and a few episodes of the second season (there is an episode where the main character says "oy vey, I am the rabbi") did I realize that it's none other than the jews who have time machine(s). I posted about jews having time machine(s) on 8chan for a while and then stopped posting since I had come to the conclusion that everyone already knew since I had been remembering past events and even in real life people (I believe they are jews) were providing hints that they already know about time machine(s) and that they can "see" me. For example even when I am out riding my motorcycle, they bring cars and other vehicles in front of me with license plates like "1CQ" (I see Q?), "14CQ" (I foresee Q?), 12CQ (I too see Q?), etc. Satan is "Q" apparently. The "Q" from LGBTQ (I think it's supposed to be a replacement for P 😐). Yesterday there was a car with a "1AM" license plate and I correctly guessed that they may have seen me stay up till 1 am because of this post. 🤷🏻‍♂️
I believe Satan is also supposed to be "L", "G", "B", and "T". For example, they have a Satan/devil character in South Park but have also been making fun of me using Mr. Garrison (they also use other characters to make fun of me). He was supposed to be gay, but later becomes a "tranny" and also a "lesbian", and then becomes a man again. 🤣 Even when they were making fun of Trump using Mr. Garrison, they were actually making fun of Satan. 🤣 I only thought "cancel south park" because I thought they were making fun of Trump whereas they and even Trump were making fun of Satan. 🤣 Satan still wants South Park cancelled (that's why "tegridy farms" in the latest season I am guessing). Same goes for "The Simpsons" and "Family Guy". They did cancel "Family Guy" once, didn't they? Probably because they knew Satan would want it cancelled in the future because they were being anti-Trump. Satan wanted Trump to win but turns out he is just an actor and that it's a jewess run jew world. That's why they are unwilling to even put out fake news about Hillary being sent to jail (real Satan wants Hillary in jail). 🤣
Time machine(s) are also being used to produce the cartoon Teen Titans Go. Was thinking about pirating the show after finding it pretty funny despite the fact that they were making fun of me and this episode was airing at the time - https://teen-titans-go.fandom.com/wiki/BL4Z3 .
There is also this episode called "Quantum Fun" - https://teen-titans-go.fandom.com/wiki/Quantum_Fun .
It's a sad, rainy day outside in Jump City, and Robin's in a similarly depressing mood. Not bothering to get dressed, he merely wears his bath robe wit a defeated look on his face. The other Titans, noticing that Robin's looking out his temporary sadness curtain again, wonder what's got him down. He explains his worries about their lives not being real—that it's all just a computer simulation. Raven slaps him in anger for bringing this nonsense up again, and the other berate him for watching The Matrix again.
Since time machine(s) exist it's definitely possible that I am living in a simulation. 😢 Santa is also shown in the cartoon, by the way. 🤣
Song from the show making fun of Satan - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RvgYOIHtWDA (pyramid scheme money = Bitcoin!)
Anyway, since the jews have time machine(s) I believe now that all religions have been made up by them. Because Satan is also supposed to be Jesus, Shiva, Hanuman, etc. 🤣 They want me to think that particle accelerators are actually time machines and even have a Shiva statue at CERN ("gifted" by "desi" jews 🤣). That's why they were also posting about it on /conspiracy I believe. Like voat (goat), /conspiracy was also made for Satan I am guessing because Satan is a conspiracy nut. After reading fake news about bird flu, swine flu, etc. he thought perhaps some organization like PETA was genetically engineering them. But it turns out jews are "unofficial" cannibals so why would they care about other jews eating animals? Oh, and I believe voat was made so that Satan could "have his say" but someone banned one of Satan's voat accounts because they didn't like what Satan was saying. 🤣
Jews are hiding as Christians (forgot to add it previously 🤣), Hindus, Muslims (not a good disguise 🤣), Sikhs, Buddhists, Scientologists, Satanists (they are actually anti-Satan 🤣), etc. I had noticed people in this region (fake country since it's a jew world; and fake name based on Satan's real life name) with odd looking noses before but didn't know at the time that they were supposed to be jew noses (they are "desi" jews 🤣). I noticed that some of them are using the coronavirus fake news as an excuse to hide their jew noses with masks (that's the theory anyway). I now assume that everyone with any genetic defects whatsoever (like male pattern baldness) are also jews. But I also believe that it's possible that everyone at this point are jews/have jewish ancestry. Pure blood jews (they have the most genetic defects), half blood jews or mud blood jews (Harry Potter terminology). Satan is also supposed to be Harry Potter apparently (lightning shaped scar; mark of the beast 🤣; half blood?). But it's also possible that "goyim" still exist and the jews have simply told them something like "oy vey, goyim, trust the plan, we are trying to save the jew world--I mean world, from Satan". Who knows (they do), maybe things are going according to their "plan". Maybe Satan buying that motorcycle was part of the "plan" all along. 🤷🏻‍♂️
Of course, if everybody knows who I am, then there is also the possibility that I have thought about before that you are all NPCs and I am the only one real living in a completely fake world. That's why there were all those "NPC" memes and fake news about them being "dehumanizing". 🤣 Jews are just acting like the actors in Truman Show (the ones that were pretending to be his friends and family), they are definitely not NPCs even though they have been behaving like NPCs when around Satan. Anyway, I have to wait for "real time" to tell me what's what. "Fake time" (opposite of real time? 🤣) has already told the jews (or whoevewhatever they are) what's going to happen in the future and may have also mind fucked them in the process. 🤣
Anyway, the jews have time machine(s) and therefore other advanced tech (like remote mind surveillance/control tech), they know what's going to happen in the future and may have seen the end of their jew world and think/know that "Satan" is reponsible somehow and apparently I am "Satan". I even remember reading fake news about Trump winning and end times "prophecies" coming true on an "Israeli" (also fake name? Israel is not "real"?) news site.
Of course, I have no memories of being "Satan" or whatever so it's possible the jews did something to wipe my "satanic" memories which may also be the reason that I am somewhat retarded (I even had a "I am retarded?" moment like in the Quantum Leap episode "Jimmy") which the jews like to describe as autism, ass burgers, etc. 🤣 But since they have been reading my thoughts and watching me all these years (with "eye phones" as shown in that Futurama episode?), there may have been coincidences from my side because of which they may have thought that Satan is only pretending to be retarded and knows who he is. Perhaps they were not coincidences. I don't know (मैंने कुछ नहीं पता 🤣). But maybe the jews do because they have REAL LIFE TIME MACHINE(S). ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Last time I am posting. Won't be posting again if deleted. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yes, Bitcoin was always supposed to be gold 2.0: digital gold that you could use like cash, so you could spend it anywhere without needing banks and gold notes to make it useful. So why is Core trying to turn it back into gold 1.0?

We all understand what's great about gold. It has a history of value, a finite supply, and it doesn't degrade.
The problem with gold is that it's bulky and heavy and hard to divide up. this makes it impractical as a medium of exchange: you can't easily take a chunk of gold to the grocery and shave off the amount you need to pay. And you can't send gold through the internet.
So to use gold as a medium of exchange, historically, one had to turn it into coinage, which can be diluted causing inflation, or banknotes, which can be printed without reserves causing inflation. If only there was some way to use gold for payments directly, so no "mint" or "bank" was needed!
The genius of Bitcoin was in figuring out a way to take all the properties of gold (valuable, scarce, and immutable) and make them digital.
In exactly the same way that digital news made it possible to teleport one article from a virtual newspaper right into your hands, and streaming music made it possible to teleport one song from an album right into your home, digital gold makes it possible to teleport one payment's worth of gold directly to the recipient.
Making the gold digital makes it teleportable (weightless, massless) and trivially divisible. In other words, digital gold solves the problem of using gold directly as a medium of exchange.
Bitcoin wasn't ever supposed to be a decision about being "gold or cash." Bitcoin was always supposed to be gold and cash. That's what makes it disruptive!
Making onchain transactions slow and expensive has the effect of turning Bitcoin back into gold 1.0. Slow and expensive is the BTC strategy. A digital version of gold that isn't cheap and fast to move is no better than real gold as a medium of exchange.
And let's not miss the fact that being able to use the gold directly as a medium of exchange without needing a bank to route it for you is the disruptive part.
BCH retains all the scarcity and immutability that you expect from gold, in teleportable form so that you can spend it like cash. This was the vision of Bitcoin that we invested in 2009-2016 before the strategy was changed.
BCH is Bitcoin the way Bitcoin was intended to be.

The Great Bitcoin Bull Market Of 2017 by Trace Mayer

By: Trace Mayer, host of The Bitcoin Knowledge Podcast.
Originally posted here with images and Youtube videos.
I just got back from a two week vacation without Internet as I was scouring some archeological ruins. I hardly thought about Bitcoin at all because there were so many other interesting things and it would be there when I got back.
Jimmy Song suggested I do an article on the current state of Bitcoin. A great suggestion but he is really smart (he worked on Armory after all!) so I better be thorough and accurate!
Therefore, this article will be pretty lengthy and meticulous.
BACKGROUND
As I completely expected, the 2X movement from the New York Agreement that was supposed to happen during the middle of my vacation flopped on its face because Jeff Garzik was driving the clown car with passengers willfully inside like Coinbase, Blockchain.info, Bitgo and Xapo and there were here massive bugS and in the code and miners like Bitmain did not want to allocate $150-350m to get it over the difficulty adjustments.
I am very disappointed in their lack of integrity with putting their money where their mouths are; myself and many others wanted to sell a lot of B2X for BTC!
On 7 December 2015, with Bitcoin trading at US$388.40, I wrote The Rise of the Fourth Great Bitcoin Bubble. On 4 December 2016, with Bitcoin trading at US$762.97, I did this interview:

As of 26 November 2017, Bitcoin is trading around US$9,250.00. That is an increase of about 2,400% since I wrote the article prognosticating this fourth great Bitcoin bull market. I sure like being right, like usual (19 Dec 2011, 1 Jul 2013), especially when there are financial and economic consequences.
With such massive gains in such a short period of time the speculative question becomes: Buy, Hold or Sell?
FUNDAMENTALS
Bitcoin is the decentralized censorship-resistant Internet Protocol for transferring value over a communications channel.
The Bitcoin network can use traditional Internet infrastructure. However, it is even more resilient because it has custom infrastructure including, thanks to Bitcoin Core developer Matt Corrallo, the FIBRE network and, thanks to Blockstream, satellites which reduce the cost of running a full-node anywhere in the world to essentially nothing in terms of money or privacy. Transactions can be cheaply broadcast via SMS messages.
SECURITY
The Bitcoin network has a difficulty of 1,347,001,430,559 which suggests about 9,642,211 TH/s of custom ASIC hardware deployed.
At a retail price of approximately US$105/THs that implies about $650m of custom ASIC hardware deployed (35% discount applied).
This custom hardware consumes approximately 30 TWh per year. That could power about 2.8m US households or the entire country of Morocco which has a population of 33.85m.
This Bitcoin mining generates approximately 12.5 bitcoins every 10 minutes or approximately 1,800 per day worth approximately US$16,650,000.
Bitcoin currently has a market capitalization greater than $150B which puts it solidly in the top-30 of M1 money stock countries and a 200 day moving average of about $65B which is increasing about $500m per day.
Average daily volumes for Bitcoin is around US$5B. That means multi-million dollar positions can be moved into and out of very easily with minimal slippage.
When my friend Andreas Antonopolous was unable to give his talk at a CRYPSA event I was invited to fill in and delivered this presentation, impromptu, on the Seven Network Effects of Bitcoin.
These seven network effects of Bitcoin are (1) Speculation, (2) Merchants, (3) Consumers, (4) Security [miners], (5) Developers, (6) Financialization and (7) Settlement Currency are all taking root at the same time and in an incredibly intertwined way.
With only the first network effect starting to take significant root; Bitcoin is no longer a little experiment of magic Internet money anymore. Bitcoin is monster growing at a tremendous rate!!

SPECULATION
For the Bitcoin price to remain at $9,250 it requires approximately US$16,650,000 per day of capital inflow from new hodlers.
Bitcoin is both a Giffen good and a Veblen good.
A Giffen good is a product that people consume more of as the price rises and vice versa — seemingly in violation of basic laws of demand in microeconomics such as with substitute goods and the income effect.
Veblen goods are types of luxury goods for which the quantity demanded increases as the price increases in an apparent contradiction of the law of demand.
There are approximately 16.5m bitcoins of which ~4m are lost, ~4-6m are in deep cold storage, ~4m are in cold storage and ~2-4m are salable.
And forks like BCash (BCH) should not be scary but instead be looked upon as an opportunity to take more territory on the Bitcoin blockchain by trading the forks for real bitcoins which dries up more salable supply by moving it, likely, into deep cold storage.
According to Wikipedia, there are approximately 15.4m millionaires in the United States and about 12m HNWIs ($30m+ net worth) in the world. In other words, if every HNWI in the world wanted to own an entire bitcoin as a 'risk-free asset' that cannot be confiscated, seized or have the balance other wise altered then they could not.
For wise portfolio management, these HNWIs should have at least about 2-5% in gold and 0.5-1% in bitcoin.
Why? Perhaps some of the 60+ Saudis with 1,700 frozen bank accounts and about $800B of assets being targetted might be able to explain it to you.
In other words, everyone loves to chase the rabbit and once they catch it then know that it will not get away.
RETAIL
There are approximately 150+ significant Bitcoin exchanges worldwide. Kraken, according to the CEO, was adding about 6,000 new funded accounts per day in July 2017.
Supposedly, Coinbase is currently adding about 75,000 new accounts per day. Based on some trade secret analytics I have access to; I would estimate Coinbase is adding approximately 17,500 new accounts per day that purchase at least US$100 of Bitcoin.
If we assume Coinbase accounts for 8% of new global Bitcoin users who purchase at least $100 of bitcoins (just pulled out of thin error and likely very conservative as the actual number is perhaps around 2%) then that is approximately $21,875,000 of new capital coming into Bitcoin every single day just from retail demand from 218,750 total new accounts.
What I have found is that most new users start off buying US$100-500 and then after 3-4 months months they ramp up their capital allocation to $5,000+ if they have the funds available.
After all, it takes some time and practical experience to learn how to safely secure one's private keys.
To do so, I highly recommend Bitcoin Core (network consensus and full validation of the blockchain), Armory (private key management), Glacier Protocol (operational procedures) and a Puri.sm laptop (secure non-specialized hardware).

There has been no solution for large financial fiduciaries to invest in Bitcoin. This changed November 2017.
LedgerX, whose CEO I interviewed 23 March 2013, began trading as a CFTC regulated Swap Execution Facility and Derivatives Clearing Organization.
The CME Group announced they will begin trading in Q4 2017 Bitcoin futures.
The CBOE announced they will begin trading Bitcoin futures soon.
By analogy, these institutional products are like connecting a major metropolis's water system (US$90.4T and US$2 quadrillion) via a nanoscopic shunt to a tiny blueberry ($150B) that is infinitely expandable.
This price discovery could be the most wild thing anyone has ever experienced in financial markets.
THE GREAT CREDIT CONTRACTION
The same week Bitcoin was released I published my book The Great Credit Contraction and asserted it had now begun and capital would burrow down the liquidity pyramid into safer and more liquid assets.
Thus, the critical question becomes: Is Bitcoin a possible solution to the Great Credit Contraction by becoming the safest and most liquid asset?
BITCOIN'S RISK PROFILE
At all times and in all circumstances gold remains money but, of course, there is always exchange rate risk due to price ratios constantly fluctuating. If the metal is held with a third-party in allocated-allocated storage (safest possible) then there is performance risk (Morgan Stanley gold storage lawsuit).
But, if properly held then, there should be no counter-party risk which requires the financial ability of a third-party to perform like with a bank account deposit. And, since gold exists at a single point in space and time therefore it is subject to confiscation or seizure risk.
Bitcoin is a completely new asset type. As such, the storage container is nearly empty with only $150B.
And every Bitcoin transaction effectively melts down every BTC and recasts it; thus ensuring with 100% accuracy the quantity and quality of the bitcoins. If the transaction is not on the blockchain then it did not happen. This is the strictest regulation possible; by math and cryptography!
This new immutable asset, if properly secured, is subject only to exchange rate risk. There does exist the possibility that a software bug may exist that could shut down the network, like what has happened with Ethereum, but the probability is almost nil and getting lower everyday it does not happen.
Thus, Bitcoin arguably has a lower risk profile than even gold and is the only blockchain to achieve security, scalability and liquidity.
To remain decentralized, censorship-resistant and immutable requires scalability so as many users as possible can run full-nodes.
TRANSACTIONS
Some people, probably mostly those shilling alt-coins, think Bitcoin has a scalability problem that is so serious it requires a crude hard fork to solve.
On the other side of the debate, the Internet protocol and blockchain geniuses assert the scalability issues can, like other Internet Protocols have done, be solved in different layers which are now possible because of Segregated Witness which was activated in August 2017.
Whose code do you want to run: the JV benchwarmers or the championship Chicago Bulls?
As transaction fees rise, certain use cases of the Bitcoin blockchain are priced out of the market. And as the fees fall then they are economical again.
Additionally, as transaction fees rise, certain UTXOs are no longer economically usable thus destroying part of the money supply until fees decline and UTXOs become economical to move.
There are approximately 275,000-350,000 transactions per day with transaction fees currently about $2m/day and the 200 DMA is around $1.08m/day.
What I like about transaction fees is that they somewhat reveal the financial health of the network.
The security of the Bitcoin network results from the miners creating solutions to proof of work problems in the Bitcoin protocol and being rewarded from the (1) coinbase reward which is a form of inflation and (2) transaction fees which is a form of usage fee.
The higher the transaction fees then the greater implied value the Bitcoin network provides because users are willing to pay more for it.
I am highly skeptical of blockchains which have very low transaction fees. By Internet bubble analogy, Pets.com may have millions of page views but I am more interested in EBITDA.
DEVELOPERS
Bitcoin and blockchain programming is not an easy skill to acquire and master. Most developers who have the skill are also financially independent now and can work on whatever they want.
The best of the best work through the Bitcoin Core process. After all, if you are a world class mountain climber then you do not hang out in the MacDonalds play pen but instead climb Mount Everest because that is where the challenge is.
However, there are many talented developers who work in other areas besides the protocol. Wallet maintainers, exchange operators, payment processors, etc. all need competent developers to help build their businesses.
Consequently, there is a huge shortage of competent developers. This is probably the largest single scalability constraint for the ecosystem.
Nevertheless, the Bitcoin ecosystem is healthier than ever before.
SETTLEMENT CURRENCY
There are no significant global reserve settlement currency use cases for Bitcoin yet.
Perhaps the closest is Blockstream's Strong Federations via Liquid.
PRICE
There is a tremendous amount of disagreement in the marketplace about the value proposition of Bitcoin. Price discovery for this asset will be intense and likely take many cycles of which this is the fourth.
Since the supply is known the exchange rate of Bitcoins is composed of (1) transactional demand and (2) speculative demand.
Interestingly, the price elasticity of demand for the transactional demand component is irrelevant to the price. This makes for very interesting dynamics!
On 4 May 2017, Lightspeed Venture Partners partner Jeremy Liew who was among the early Facebook investors and the first Snapchat investor laid out their case for bitcoin exploding to $500,000 by 2030.
On 2 November 2017, Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein (https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-11-02/blankfein-says-don-t-dismiss-bitcoin-while-still-pondering-value)said, "Now we have paper that is just backed by fiat...Maybe in the new world, something gets backed by consensus."
On 12 Sep 2017, JP Morgan CEO called Bitcoin a 'fraud' but conceded that "(http://fortune.com/2017/09/12/jamie-dimon-bitcoin-cryptocurrency-fraud-buy/)Bitcoin could reach $100,000".
Thus, it is no surprise that the Bitcoin chart looks like a ferret on meth when there are such widely varying opinions on its value proposition.
I have been around this space for a long time. In my opinion, those who scoffed at the thought of $1 BTC, $10 BTC (Professor Bitcorn!), $100 BTC, $1,000 BTC are scoffing at $10,000 BTC and will scoff at $100,000 BTC, $1,000,000 BTC and even $10,000,000 BTC.
Interestingly, the people who understand it the best seem to think its financial dominance is destiny.
Meanwhile, those who understand it the least make emotionally charged, intellectually incoherent bearish arguments. A tremendous example of worldwide cognitive dissonance with regards to sound money, technology and the role or power of the State.
Consequently, I like looking at the 200 day moving average to filter out the daily noise and see the long-term trend.
Well, that chart of the long-term trend is pretty obvious and hard to dispute. Bitcoin is in a massive secular bull market.
The 200 day moving average is around $4,001 and rising about $30 per day.
So, what do some proforma situations look like where Bitcoin may be undervalued, average valued and overvalued? No, these are not prognostications.
Maybe Jamie Dimon is not so off his rocker after all with a $100,000 price prediction.
We are in a very unique period of human history where the collective globe is rethinking what money is and Bitcoin is in the ring battling for complete domination. Is or will it be fit for purpose?
As I have said many times before, if Bitcoin is fit for this purpose then this is the largest wealth transfer in the history of the world.
CONCLUSION
Well, this has been a brief analysis of where I think Bitcoin is at the end of November 2017.
The seven network effects are taking root extremely fast and exponentially reinforcing each other. The technological dominance of Bitcoin is unrivaled.
The world is rethinking what money is. Even CEOs of the largest banks and partners of the largest VC funds are honing in on Bitcoin's beacon.
While no one has a crystal ball; when I look in mine I see Bitcoin's future being very bright.
Currently, almost everyone who has bought Bitcoin and hodled is sitting on unrealized gains as measured in fiat currency. That is, after all, what uncharted territory with daily all-time highs do!
But perhaps there is a larger lesson to be learned here.
Riches are getting increasingly slippery because no one has a reliable defined tool to measure them with. Times like these require incredible amounts of humility and intelligence guided by macro instincts.
Perhaps everyone should start keeping books in three numéraires: USD, gold and Bitcoin.
Both gold and Bitcoin have never been worth nothing. But USD is a fiat currency and there are thousands of those in the fiat currency graveyard. How low can the world reserve currency go?
After all, what is the risk-free asset? And, whatever it is, in The Great Credit Contraction you want it!
What do you think? Disagree with some of my arguments or assertions? Please, eviscerate them on Twitter or in the comments!

2018 in Review: A Plateau of Shit

Welcome to my fifth annual Year in Review, in which I chronicle the previous in reddit, circlejerks, and circlebroke. And like the other years, this one was a doozy. So, without further ado, let me present to you...
2018 In Review: A Plateau of Shit
January
The #MeToo movement is still in full swing. The MO for 2018 remains the same, agreeing with anyone who speaks out against the movement and downplaying the actions of people they like.
A redditor takes m’lady out on a date, can’t let go of something minor, and ends up humiliating her in front of the staff. Mods decided that while something bad happened, he didn’t fuck up.
February
Remember Ugandan Knuckles? It was a flavor-of-the-week maymay that was pretty blatantly racist. Redditors decided to shit up /uganda, a place where people once had actual discussions about the country where they lived or visited, with their shitty memes.
Black Panther becomes the first major superhero movie with an all-black cast. Redditors open the racist floodgates, then proceed to get pissy about being accused of being racists.
Did you hear? Daddy Musk launched a car into space. This is such a big deal that reddit has to insult anyone critical of the occasion and also compare his struggle to bitcoin for some reason.
Another mass shooting, another song and dance about how of course guns aren’t the problem, idiot. Only this time, an extra helping of vitriol is directed at teenagers!
March
We did it circlebroke! Racist fake-news mill /uncensorcednews is permabanned!
Survivors of the Parkland shooting organized a nationwide anti-gun march which is like rage-filled catnip for anti-activist and pro-gun redditors.
April
Another Nazi getting punched in the face, another visit from the Volunteer Nazi Safety Brigade.
As a bonus, the events of previous months produced what it probably the cringiest writing prompt ever devised.
May
Rapper Childish Gambino made an music video for the song “This Is America.” It’s not subtle. White redditors dropped by to “well actually” about how it is a critique of black culture.
If only the powers that be listened to redditors, they could have prevented another school shooting, something that redditors know everything about.
In what is becoming a semi-annual occurrence, another swath of gamers pitched a shitfit about women and minorities appearing in their bideo bames. This time, gamers are so fed up after seeing a woman in the trailer for Battlefield V that they wish the Nazis had won WWII
June
CB mods declare Summerbroke. Is that even any different from regular CB?
Happy LGBTQ Pride Month! The World Health Organization removed being transgender as a mental illness. Reddit can’t be having any of that! (WHO also classified “gaming addiction” as a disorder, so there’s a bonus “gamers rise up” jerk in there too).
When virtually every nation on earth condemned the Trump administration’s policy of family separation, reddit chimed in with the usual cold-heartedness and whataboutism.
Some dipshit literally clamped his balls to a car battery and electrocuted himself in order to win a dumb online argument. Reddit has a new hero.
July
The EU was going to ban memes, or something. Reddit did nothing, and then patted themselves on the back once their may-mays were safe.
The founder of KiA scuttled the sub, disgusted at the cesspit of racism and sexism it had become. It took admins less than half an hour to get it up and running.
August
For much of 2017 and 2018, a certain portion of reddit became enamored with Jordan Peterson, a Canadian college professor who said stuff like “There are only two genders” and “All these pronouns aren’t necessary,” but with more words. Perhaps the biggest laff at the expense of Peterson fandom came from redditors who eat nothing but meat because of Peterson.
Certified conspiracy nut Alex Jones got his dangerously stupid and reactionary podcast pull from all the major carriers. Naturally, redditeurs got super mad about it.
The hacker behind 2014’s “The Fappening” scandal was sentenced to prison for his deeds. Queue up “Uptown Funk,” because for a moment it was 2014 again because redditors were back to victim blaming and downplaying the illegal actions.
Reddit’s favorite stand-up comedian, Louis C.K. performed his first stand-up since his #MeToo fall from grace. Time for some revisionist history!
Gamers are still worked up about Battlefield V. One of them calls the Nazis the quote-unquote “bad guys” of WWII
September
Reddit still hates Black Panther
The G in Gamer stands for genocide because a gaming conference held part of an event specifically for women and non-binary people.
More GamerGenocide: A white video game character might have dark skin in the coming TV adaptation. Literal racism.
More tech-bro drama: Linux developers revamp their Code of Conduct. The techbros of /linux can’t possibly be expected to be inclusive and not harass people!
We did it, reddit! An alt-right sub and a hate sub get banned. Later in the month, more shitty subs get quarantined. But what about SRS?
October
Americans of all backgrounds and politics had strong feelings about the Senate confirmation hearing of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. On reddit, the feeling was one of a hard-won victory in the face the ever-present threat of false accusations.
A disciple of Daddy Peterson brought his girlfriend to one of the professor’s lectures and she dumped him. WARNING: Hilarious, but possibly fake.
Gamers are trash, more at 11: While the Trump Administration was busy finding new ways to strip trans* people of their civil rights, a game distribution platform used the resistance hashtag in a cruel, ironic way. Naturally, gamers showed more cruelty and cluelessness in response to the ensuing controversy.
November
Midterm elections happened! When a record number of black women are elected, redditors step in to tell you why that’s a bad thing
Gamers are trash, chapter VIII: Nothing much happened in November because everybody was busy playing Red Dead Redemption 2. When a gAmEr posted a video of him attacking a suffragette and feeding the body to hogs, he got banned from youtube. The RDR sub valiantly came to his defense.
Happy Thanksgiving! If you’re a vegan, you can expect redditors dropping into the vegan sub to lecture you about pushing your “nonsense” on “regular folks”...and then get gilded for it.
Freeze Peach in action: In a victory for edgelord Nazi kids everywhere, some edgelord Nazi kinds giving the Nazi salute in a group photo won’t face any repercussions. Reddit rejoices.
December
Reddit still hates Black Panther.
It’s a tale as old as time: Beloved youtuber-gamer descends into the alt-right rabbit hole, says inexcusable stuff on his podcast, disappears for ten months, makes a crappy video, is welcomed back by the youtuber-gamer-watcher community
Speaking of beloved youtube-gamers, PewDiePie and his fans continue to be garbage.
Analysis
I’ve got some bad news, and some good news.
The bad news: 2018 sucked. Being on reddit in 2018 sucked.
The good news: Being on reddit in 2018 sucked about as much as being on reddit in 2017 sucked.
Things didn’t get noticeably worse this year, plus there wasn’t any large scale drama like Ellen Pao stuff or FPH stuff back in 2015 (my, what a long time ago that was). In 2016 and 2017, reddit became a haven for the alt-right and a nerve center for targeted harassment campaigns. In 2018, more of the same shit was happening, but at more or less the same level we were accustomed to. The Nazis and trolls were still in every nook and cranny, but it seems like they ran out of gamers to indoctrinate or new nooks and crannies to invade. Plus, a few notable cesspools got banned or quarantined. The levels of shit just kinda plateaued. Presently, we stand on a giant plateau of shit. There's shit in every direction, as far as the eye can see. Things could have been better, of course. But things probably could have gone even worse. At least we aren't starting up a mountain of shit.
We survived it.
We got used to it.
You know, like a frog gets used to boiling water.
May we all have a safe, happy, healthy, and sane 2019.

The reason why contentious forks occur in crypto, and how Monero can thoughtfully navigate the current ASIC-friendly PoW discussion

Hello Monero world,
I've been participating in this awesome project since mid 2016 (forgive the new account; the old one was was deleted). Like many of you, I love Monero because I feel it best represents the heart and soul of what cryptocurrency is all about. It's basically Bitcoin 2.0, better at what Bitcoin was originally intended to be. The community is really smart and mission-driven and not sold-out at all. While other coins seem to have acquiesced to the siren song of profit, XMR seems to remain laser focused, all these years later, on its original mission to provide people around the world with a truly private way to digitally transact. In an age where the world's largest corporations are using satellites to catalog our every move, selling our most intimate details to the highest bidder, Monero is a refreshing thing indeed.
As the discussion around an ASIC-friendly PoW begins to heat up, I wanted to offer some values for how best to proceed. This post is my humble attempt to stop something akin to the Bitcoin/Cash split from coming to Monero. Not only could this harm the bubble of trust and unity that we have cultivated over the years, but it also could fracture the privacy of the entire project. Unlike Bitcoin, ring signature chain splits are a MUCH bigger deal because they have the potential to weaken the privacy of the entire project. So it is really important we wade into the PoW deep end with a lot of patience and respect for one another.
The biggest strength of open source projects is also a point of its greatest weakness. Few of us have ever met each other. I've seen pictures from a few Meetups, which are great, all these Moneroans hefting steins of beer with smiles on their faces. A few of us have met at conferences. But as a generalization we have no ability to personally know the people involved in this ASIC discussion. As a result, the organic trust in this community is tenuous at best. What I mean is, when two friends in the real world have a difference of opinion, they can look each other in the face and have a productive disagreement, because they can see in the face of the other person whether or not they are dialoging in good faith, especially if they have years of positive trust already built with each other.
Monero, on the other hand, makes most of its important decisions via bald discussion on Github and Reddit. So usernames like Fluffypony and Moneromooo have to share equal space with Sockpuppet123 and Sockpuppet456. The average reader is then tasked with remembering which usernames have been around a long time and which have not. And when some trusted participants in Monero have somewhat complicated usernames like SChernykh, this task becomes hard work indeed.
Let me provide an example of this. On the more ASIC-antagonistic side of the discussion is longtime community member Gingeropolous, a good guy I have personally interacted with many times, a guy who loves Monero. He made a point in the Github discussion that we should stick to the Cryponight whitepaper's value of democratized mining, one CPU one vote, and by embracing ASICs we are compromising a central element of Monero's identity. Fluffypony, another good guy that I have personally interacted with many times, and who also loves Monero, responded to Gingeropolous that Monero is first about privacy, and the whitepaper is not meant to be blindly followed, especially if doing so undermines the future of the coin.
Now at this point in the discussion you have a healthy moment of disagreement. Two people who love this coin and who have been involved with it for many years have a differing opinion, and I would argue that both of them have a valid point. In a normal real-life situation like this, the years of trust and subjective experience of the other person talking could sort of undergird the conversation as a whole and make a positive outcome more likely. So what happened next?
Unfortunately, talking on Github is nothing like talking in the real world, and the next person to weigh in on the topic of the whitepaper was a user I've not interacted with before, and his comment was telling Fluffypony to not throw out the whitepaper as a whole, which Fluffypony was obviously not suggesting, and so he had to clarify his original point, which he tried to do, but in my opinion that turn of the discussion was not very fruitful.
Every newcomer to this project has the freedom on Github or Reddit to strawman people (to strawman someone is to take a minor point they made and expand it into a huge point that is easy to shoot down). This sort of occurrence, painting people into corners to achieve goals, has the likelihood to become more commonplace if this debate begins to heat up and become overly emotional.
I am writing this post to suggest a few values to the Monero community to help them avoid splitting the chain, the community, and weakening the privacy of all parties involved.
Five values to facilitate the ASIC-friendly PoW discussion:
  1. Keep ALL conversation productive. Laser focus on this value! Resist the siren call to label each other, to demean and disdain to win arguments. Resist using swear words. Do not critique people's character but focus on the IDEAS being discussed.
  2. On that note, put rationality before emotion. Embrace a Moneroesque existentialism and commit yourself to reality over religion, to truth over ideology. The goal is to arrive at what PoW strategy is best for the project. The day nobody is willing to sacrifice their sacred cryptographic cows is the day our chain begins to split.
  3. Give the most authority to comments from long time community members: Fluffypony, Gingeropolous, Smooth, Hyc, dEBRUYNE, SamsungGalaxyPlayer, NeedMoney90, etc etc etc. Dozens of intelligent thoughtful good people have devoted years of their lives to this project, so you can have more trust that the positions these usernames offer are being made in good faith.
  4. Give the least authority to brand new accounts, especially if they seem to demean or disdain longtime community members. There are huge incentives to disrupt constructive dialog on the topic of an ASIC-friendly PoW. For example, imagine you are some dude who invested his entire net-worth into GPUs to mine Monero. Wouldn't you do everything in your power, including making adversarial Github comments, to keep yourself from becoming homeless? I know I would.
  5. Everybody needs to engage this issue! That includes you. Yes, you, the person reading this sentence! If people grumble on the sidelines but don't engage the discussion when it is happening, they are more likely to leave the project if the PoW decision doesn't go their way. And we are more likely to split the chain, weakening all of our privacy as a whole. Think through the implications of both your arguments and the arguments of those you disagree with.
Personally speaking, I was on one side of this debate at the start, but after considering all the facts I was convinced my original position was faulty, so I changed my mind.
That's it. I look forward to further discussions around 1-year versus 10 year-acceptance of an ASIC-friendly PoW, as I am learning so much in this process. And I look forward to uncorking a bottle of Barolo with you in person someday.
Sincerely, MoneroEric
PS: A truly great way to grow in trust is to actually meet in person, so I want to plug the upcoming Konferenco on June 22-23 in Denver: https://monerokon.com
PPS: To my surprise the third person in the Gingeropolous/Fluffy exchange, who I suggested was a newcomer to Monero, was in actuality one of the very first participants in the Monero project! I recant my quick assumption and will, in the future, work harder at providing more accurate examples.

part1 part2 part3 part4
so, it's been 4 months since i started this journey and i gotta say that NR has really re-vitalized my personal interest in home-automation, as well as, my HA and whole house setup.
i've done more in the past 4 months, to streamline my setup and adding new automations than i've done in the three years since i started using HA somewhere around v0.24.x'ish. i got that shit dialed in now.
(also some credit to EspHome for being awesome, despite having meh documentation. yeah, i said it. meh👏doc👏u👏men👏ta👏shun)
at this point i have about 36 NR tabs. some are just testing, or playing around with a particular component/palette, but most have at least one flow on it that is live and in use.
so, i thought i'd break some of them down for you guys, 'barney style+':

Establishing a smart contract commercial scenario: Chainlink, Zk-Snarks and sharding technology work together to make the ultimate killer

EDIT: found an English text with pictures:
https://medium.com/@rogerfeng/making-smart-contracts-work-for-business-how-chainlink-zk-snarks-sharding-finally-delivered-8f268af75ca2
Author: Feng Jie translation: Liu Sha
“The highest state of technology is to integrate into the various scenes of everyday life, to fade away from high-tech outerwear and become a part of everyday life.” – Mark Weiser
People in the future will not even think that smart contracts are "innovative." By that time, smart contracts would permeate every aspect of life, and people couldn't even imagine what the era of non-digital currency would look like.
Later historians may divide human business history into two eras, the pre-smart contract era and the post-smart contract era. After all, digital money has brought unprecedented changes to the nature and patterns of business practices in the real world. An anonymous member of the Chainlink community once said: "Smart contracts can change the DNA of the business."
Of course, like all the technological revolutions of the past, smart contracts also need to reach a "tipping point" to truly achieve large-scale applications. So we need to ask ourselves two questions:
  1. What exactly is this so-called tipping point?
  2. As of August 2019, have we reached this tipping point?
To reach the tipping point means unlocking the ultimate nirvana of business.
Tipping point We can think about this issue from the perspective of mainstream companies. Imagine what a perfect smart contract platform should look like. What characteristics should this platform have? Or what features must be possessed?
To reach the tipping point, you must establish a public chain with the following four characteristics:
  1. Privacy protection
  2. In addition to the cryptocurrency, the transaction can also be settled in mainstream legal currency and comply with the regulatory requirements of financial markets such as ISO 20022.
  3. Achieve scalability without sacrificing decentralization or security, that is, solving the "impossible triangle problem."
  4. Connect the external data under the chain, that is, solve the "prophecy problem."
Now that we have Chainlink, zk-snarks and sharding technology, we have reached this tipping point.
Next, let's explore how this ultimate nirvana is actually made. Our discussion will be mainly from the perspective of Ethereum, which is still the top smart contract platform for community size and mainstream applications.
So what about the private chain?
Before delving into it, I want to take the time to solve an unavoidable problem. The mainstream view has always believed that the private chain is a more suitable solution for the enterprise. Therefore, we first dialectically analyze the two advantages and two major drawbacks of the private chain.
Disadvantages
  1. Centralization leads to relatively lower security
It's not surprising that IBM and Maersk's blockchain freight alliances have a hard time finding customers who are willing to join. How can other freight companies be willing to let their biggest competitors (Maersk) verify their trading data? Only madmen dare to do this.
  1. The staking of the horses occupy the hills:
This problem is even more serious than centralization. John Wolpert, co-founder of the IBM blockchain, wrote an excellent article called Breaking the Barriers to Realize Security: Why Companies Should Embrace the Ethereum Public Chain, which he covered in detail in the article.
If every company builds its own private chain, it will lead to chaos in the mountains. Today's B2B ecosystem is very complex. Imagine the innumerable private chains of the world intertwined to form a huge "spider web." This is not only cost-effective, but also not scalable.
The starting point of the blockchain is to break down barriers instead of building more barriers.
"One day, one of your big buyers called you to ask if you want to join their private chain. You promised. The next day you received a call from the wholesaler to ask you the same question. Then came the supplier, freight. Business, insurance company or even bank, and each company may have several private chains! Finally you have to invest a lot of time and cost to operate dozens of blockchains every day . If there are partners to let you join them at this time The private chain, you might say "Forget it, or fax me the order!" ”—Paul Brody (Ernst & Young)
“Every time you connect two private chains through a system integrator, you have to pay a lot of money .”
Advantage
  1. Scalability: With the Ethereum public chain implementing fragmentation technology, this advantage is rapidly shrinking.
  2. Privacy protection: At this stage, the classification of public chain / private chain is actually not very accurate. The Aztec , Zether, and Nightfall protocols (both based on the zk-snarks protocol) effectively provide a "private chain model" for the Ethereum public chain, allowing it to switch between the public and private chains. Therefore, a more accurate classification should be the alliance chain and the public chain.
By 2020, the label of the public chain/private chain will gradually disappear. The public and private chains will no longer be two opposing concepts. Instead, the concept of publicly traded/private transactions and confidential contracts/open contracts is changed, and the scope of these transactions and contracts varies according to specific needs, either bilaterally or multilaterally or even publicly.
All in all, the private chain has two major drawbacks compared to the public chain. Not only that, but the two major advantages of the private chain are also rapidly disappearing.
“Technology will evolve over time, so there will be a variety of solutions to solve existing problems. Ultimately, the public-chain platform will have the same performance, scalability and data privacy as the private chain, while at the same time ensuring security and Decentralized."
Feature 1: Privacy protection (predictive machine and public chain privacy)
Enigma founder Guy Zyskind once joked in his MIT graduation thesis that smart contracts can only become commercially valuable if they become "confidential contracts." He later proposed that zk-snarks and Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) are the most promising solutions. He said nothing wrong.
What is zk-snarks ? Zk-snarks is a zero-knowledge proof mechanism (ZPK). So what is the zero-knowledge proof mechanism? In short: a zero-knowledge proof mechanism allows you to prove that you own certain information without revealing the content of the information.
Vitalik Buterin explained this concept in detail from a technical point of view in an article published in 2017. Hackernoon also wrote an excellent article explaining the concept in an easy-to-understand way with the example of a five-year-old child and Halloween candy.
What is the trusted execution environment? The trusted execution environment lets the code run on closed hardware, and
1 ) The guarantee result cannot be tampered with
2 ) Protecting absolute privacy, even hardware running code can't get confidential information.
The most well-known trusted execution environment is Intel SGX. Chainlink has established a partnership with Intel SGX after acquiring Tom Crier.
Ernst & Young released the Nightfall agreement on Github on May 31, 2019. A well-known accounting firm with a history of 100 years will choose to add privacy features to the public chain instead of developing a private chain. This is a problem.
Since then, the community has been actively developing on this basis, not only to improve the code, but also to develop a plug-and-play Truffle Box for those who are not good at writing code. Blockchain communities and businesses generally rarely collaborate, so these collaborations fully demonstrate the popularity of Nightfall.
Prior to this, two zk-snark-based Ethereum public chain privacy protocols were introduced, namely AZTEC (Consensys) and Zether (Stanford, JPMorgan Chase). An obvious trend is slowly taking shape.
In the field of oracles, Chainlink uses both zero-knowledge proof and a trusted execution environment to complement each other. Trusted execution environments guarantee data privacy, even for nodes that cannot access data (this feature is critical for bank accounts and API keys).
Chainlink is still trying to implement a trusted execution environment, and nodes can access data temporarily, so authentication services are also needed. Although the credible execution environment is almost 100% foolproof, in theory, a strong shield has a spear that can penetrate it. Therefore, the team is currently trying to run zk-snarks in a trusted execution environment (Thomas Hodges mentioned this in the 2019 Trufflecon Q&A session). The combination of the two can form a very robust and complete system. The attacker must find a way to strip all the layers of an onion at the same time to make any effective attack (and it is already difficult to peel off a layer of skin).
“Chainlink combines a trusted execution environment with zero-knowledge proof to build what we call a defense-in-depth system, which means they provide all the tools needed for smart contract developers, including trusted execution environments, multiple nodes, and Data sources, fine margins, reputation systems, asymmetric encryption, zero-knowledge proofs, WASM, and OTP+RNG, these features allow smart contract developers to adjust the confidentiality and cost of contracts based on specific budget and security needs. Machine, Chainlink and its four major application scenarios》
In the future, zk-snarks may be upgraded to zk-starks (a fully transparent zero-knowledge proof mechanism) that protects the system from quantum computer attacks. And the best thing about zk-starks is that it's more scalable than zk-snarks. In other words, it can better protect privacy, and the cost of gas will not increase.
If you want to learn more about zk-starks, you can read a popular science article written by Adam Luciano.
Feature 2: Scalability (scalability of predictive machines and public chains) To understand this problem, we can make an analogy like this:
A public chain is like a large enterprise, and every employee (ie, a node) must attend each meeting (ie, confirm each transaction). Imagine how inefficient this company is! Only customers who have a lot of money (ie gas fees) can get their requests to the forefront. And this is not the most serious problem. The most serious problem is that the more employees (ie nodes) who join the company, the harder it is for the company to function properly! In the end, the company not only failed to expand linearly, but also became smaller and smaller. Although this guarantees decentralization and security to the greatest extent, the price is completely abandoning scalability.
There are various temporary fire fighting solutions, but no one solution can completely solve this "impossible triangle problem." For example, EOS uses the DPOS mechanism (share authorization certification mechanism), where only 21 super nodes (many of which are well-known nodes) are responsible for verifying all transactions.
Sidechains (such as Bitcoin's Lightning Network and Ethereum's lightning network) guarantee scalability and decentralization at the expense of security.
So how to use the fragmentation technology to solve this problem? Let's make another analogy:
In reality, there is only one company that is not too much to ask everyone to attend all meetings, that is, small start-ups (that is, private chains that limit the number of nodes).
In most cases, large companies divide employees into thousands of teams (ie, shards), and each team's principal (ie, the certifier) is responsible for reporting to the senior management (ie, the main chain). If people from different teams need to collaborate (and sometimes also), then they can collaborate by cross-shard receipts. If a new employee joins the company, the team can be re-segmented (ie re-sharding). This allows for linear expansion.
In fact, the process of developing a start-up to a large enterprise is surprisingly similar to the process of Ethereum 1.0 developing into Ethereum 2.0.
“The Ethereum 1.0 period is that several people who are alone are trying to build a world computer; and Ethereum 2.0 will really develop into a world computer.” Vitalik Buterin said in the first piece of the workshop.
Since Ethereum was not originally built on the principle of fragmentation, it takes seven steps to achieve the goal (this is a bit like the word morphing solitaire game). The first step is planned for January 3, 2020.
At the same time, developers can use many other blockchain platforms designed based on the fragmentation principle. Some platforms, including Zilliqa and Quarkchain, are already compatible with Chainlink.
If you want to see more in-depth technical analysis of shards, check out an article by Ramy Zhang.
In the field of oracles, Chainlink has the following two characteristics:
1 ) Use Schnorr threshold signatures to quickly reach consensus in a cost-effective manner. The next version of the chain only needs 16,000 gas.
2 ) We have previously discussed the need to use trusted execution environment hardware to ensure that nodes cannot access sensitive data. Since you have hardware in your hand, you can use it to do some actual computing work, so that you can properly reduce the amount of computation on the smart contract platform.
"With the SGX system (Town Crier) and zero-knowledge proof technology, the oracle can be truly reliable and confidential, so the boundaries between the oracle and the smart contract are beginning to flow... Our long-term strategy... is to let The predictor becomes the key chain of computing resources used by most smart contracts. We believe that the way to achieve this goal is to perform chain operations in the oracle to meet various computing needs, and then send the results to the smart contract."Chainlink White Paper, Section 6.3 (26 pages)
Of course, this “long-term strategy” has certain risks, unless Chainlink can implement a trusted execution environment and its service provider ecosystem can achieve a qualitative leap. However, the Chainlink team's vision is absolutely forward-looking: under-chain computing is a key factor in ensuring that blockchains are not dragged down by large amounts of IoT data.
The Internet of Things has dramatically increased the current state of big data. At present, most of the data is still generated on the software side, and it is not real-time data, and most of the data in the future will be real-time data generated on the sensor side. One of the big drawbacks of real-time data is that it increases storage pressure. For example, Coughlin Associates expects an unmanned car to generate 1G of data per second. This means that the same car will produce 3.6T data per hour!
The only viable solution is to do real-time analysis of the data, rather than storing the data first. In the Global Cloud Index: 2016-2021 Forecast and Methodology White Paper, Cisco predicts that more than 90% of data in 2021 will be analyzed in real time without storage.
That is to say, the essence of data is that it can only exist in just one instant. The nature of the blockchain is not to be modified, so the two are as incompatible as water and oil.
The solution is to analyze the raw data under the chain, extract the meaningful results and send them to the blockchain. The combination of fragmentation technology and trusted execution environment forms a new computing architecture, similar to the cloud computing-fog computing-edge computing architecture.
It should be noted here that it is good to improve computing power, but this is not the main purpose of the blockchain.
The fundamental purpose of the blockchain is not to reduce the original cost of computing and data storage. After all, technology giants such as Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Salesforce, Tencent, Alibaba, and Dropbox have built world-class cloud services. The centralized server wins high computational efficiency (but the blockchain will greatly improve the computational efficiency through fragmentation technology, and will catch up with it one day). The value of the blockchain is to reduce the cost of building trust. Nick Szabo calls it "social scalability" (this is a relative concept to the "operational" scalability we have been talking about). Vitalik Buterin also made it clear that the meaning of smart contracts is to accept small arithmetic delay penalties in exchange for a substantial reduction in "social costs."
Alex Coventry of the Chainlink team once raised the question: "We have missed many opportunities for cooperation and reciprocity because we can't confirm whether the other party will fulfill the promise?"
Is there any potential for data storage projects like Siacoin and IPFS? What about decentralized computing projects like SONM and Golem?
Siacoin 's core value proposition is not that its computing efficiency is higher than traditional cloud services. The cost of computing is required to split, repeat, and reassemble data. And companies are more capable of buying the latest and greatest hardware than individuals. Siacoin's core value proposition is to process data in an Airbnb-like mode, so management fees will be lower than traditional models. It also generates additional social value, such as flood control, privacy and security, and anti-censorship.
The same is true of Golem and SONM. Even with the most efficient protocol, it is inevitable that a small amount of delay will be imposed and fined to coordinate the hardware of different geographical locations. Therefore, under the condition that all other conditions are equal, the centralized hardware still has the advantage of faster computing speed. However, the core value proposition of the above project is to use the Airbnb-like model to reduce management costs.
We must strictly distinguish between "social scalability" and "operational scalability", and the two cannot be confused. I will explain these two concepts in detail when I discuss "Magic Bus and Lightweight Library" later.
Feature 3: Compatible with legal currency
Most mainstream companies do not regard cryptocurrencies as "real currencies." In addition, even if someone wants to use cryptocurrency for trading, it is very difficult to actually operate because of its high price volatility. I discussed the “price volatility problem” in detail in Chapters 8 and 9 of the previous article. These problems do not completely erase the existence value of cryptocurrencies, because cryptocurrencies also have many advantages that legal currency does not have. I am just emphasizing what we need to know more about the comfort zone of mainstream companies.
Chainlink acts as a universal API connector that triggers open banking payments. Chainlink is fully compliant with ISO 20022 and has established a long-term partnership with SWIFT (it is worth mentioning that SWIFT has not been updated for a long time and hopes to be updated after the SIBOS 2019 conference).
PSD2 will take effect on September 14, 2019. All banks in the EU will all comply with this new regulation by then. In other words, the bank must put all account data in the "front end" and can be called through the API. The approved third party (ie, the Chainlink node) can trigger the payment directly without the payment service provider.
Although the United States and Japan have not adopted similar laws, many banks still spontaneously promote the development of open banks. Banks open APIs to third-party developers to create new revenue streams and customer experiences that ultimately increase profitability. In addition, this will allow banks to better respond to competitors in the mobile payment and financial technology sectors in an APP-centric economic model.
As this open banking revolution continues, Chainlink will connect smart contracts with the world's major currencies (US dollar, euro, yen, etc.).
Only one external adapter is required to connect to the authenticated API. From a programming perspective, it is relatively simple to allow everyone in the community to contribute code to the code base (and thus achieve scalability). Chainlink has released adapters for PayPal and Mister Tango (European version of PayPal).
Feature 4: Data connection with the chain
Chainlink has been working on solving the "prophecy problem" and successfully succeeded on the main online line on May 30, 2019.
Chainlink has made many achievements in just a few months. Provable (formerly Oraclize) was successfully used on the Chainlink node and finally settled the debate about whether the predictor should be centralized or decentralized.
Synthetic Ether lost 37 million Ethercoins in a hack because it did not connect to Chainlink. Fortunately, the money was finally recovered and did not cause any loss. This lesson illustrates the importance of decentralized oracles.
In addition, both Oracle and Google have partnered with Chainlink to monetize their API data and create a virtuous circle to capture the market opportunities that Facebook missed.
There are new nodes coming online every week, and the network activity has been very high. The Chainlink team maintains a list of certified nodes in the documentation and Twitter releases. Twitter user CryptoSponge also set up a new development for the Tableau push update Chainlink team:
Regarding the importance of the current stage in the history of blockchain development, Brad Huston summed it up very brilliantly:
"The biggest problem with cryptocurrencies is to build bridges between cryptocurrencies, fiat currencies and big data. Chainlink is very beautifully narrowing the distance between the three. Now it can even be said: 'The bridge has been built.'"
Magic bus and lightweight library
Let's summarize what we discussed earlier. The real purpose of the blockchain is to reduce the cost of building trust and achieve "social scalability."
Therefore, according to this logic, the main application scenarios of platforms such as Ethereum 2.0 and Zilliqa should be in the B2B field. I quote a sentence I wrote in a previous article:
“My conclusion is: If the smart contract is successful, it will also succeed in the B2B field first.”
The private chain itself is self-contradictory and destined to fail. It has led to the phenomenon of occupying the hills, thus increasing the social cost, which is in opposition to B2B itself, and ultimately it is self-restraint. ”
Before the emergence of fragmentation technology, even simple games (ie, etheric cats) could not be smoothly run on the public chain, let alone dealing with complex B2B contracts and even changing commercial DNA. With the sharding technology, everything is ready.
Despite this, we can't use Ethereum 2.0 as an all-powerful platform. Just now we said that although it is a good thing to speed up the calculation, this is not the real purpose of Ethereum 2.0. And before we also said that due to the irreversible modification of the blockchain, it is not good to deal with a large number of fleeting real-time data of the Internet of Things. In other words, we must be soberly aware that Ethereum 2.0 will not replace traditional web 2.0. Instead, we should make better use of the real advantages of Ethereum 2.0:
“There is a new concept now, that is to think of the Ethereum main network as a global bus... We use the Ethereum 2.0 main network to treat various business resources as a working group on Slack: it can be easily built and integrated. And restructuring. The SAP inventory management system in your company, the dealer's JD Edwards ERP system, and the financial technology partner's tall blockchain system can seamlessly interface, eliminating the need to develop an infrastructure specifically for each partner." - John Wolper describes his ideal "magic bus"
Ethereum 2.0 should be an integration center, not a data center or computing center. It should be a library built specifically to store B2B contract terms (to be honest, even with fragmentation technology, the amount of data is large enough).
We should not expect Ethereum 2.0 to be an all-powerful platform, but rather develop it into a "lightweight library."
If we reorder the pyramid model just now, the architecture of the magic bus is obvious:
Of course, the positional relationship in the above model is not static. With the development of 5G technology, edge computing and IoT sensors, they may bypass the cloud to directly interact (or even bypass the fog end). If the collaboration between Iotex and Chainlink is successful, then the edge can interact directly with the trusted execution environment.
Time will tell if Airbnb's shared data storage and computing model can make management costs lower than the current mainstream Web 2.0 model. Time will also prove whether the market really needs anti-censorship, anti-tampering, security protection and privacy protection. Do users really care about these social values and are willing to pay for them? Do they think these are just the icing on the cake or the most fundamental value?
in conclusion
Whether it is the battle between web2.0 and web3.0 or the battle between cryptocurrency and legal currency, one thing is beyond doubt:
We have reached the tipping point, and the era of smart contracts with commercial value has arrived.
In fact, the only problem at the moment is the time issue, and the main roadblocks have been basically cleared.
  1. When will Ethereum 2.0 finish these 7 stages and be officially released?
  2. When will Chainlink use a trusted execution environment on a large scale? If the cooperation between Intel SGX and Town Crier fails, what alternative plans are there? Will Chainlink communicate with other blockchain teams that plan to use a trusted execution environment (such as Dawn Song's Oasis Labs)?
At present, the main technical problems in the ecosystem have been solved, and now it is only necessary to recruit a group of enthusiastic developers to do the work of “connecting the line”.
Digital currency has changed commercial DNA, and the future is full of possibilities.
The only thing that hinders us now is our own imagination. The future is infinitely imaginative, and the future will be the world of developers. Dapps is already overwhelming. There is no doubt that we have found the ultimate nirvana.

2018 in Review: A Plateau of Shit [x-post from /r/circlebroke]
